Withrow + Terranova

Withrow + Terranova is a high-technology patent boutique with a focus on electronics, telecommunication, semiconductor, software, biomedical, and mechanical technologies. Our professionals have the educational, industry, and legal backgrounds necessary to understand and protect today’s cutting-edge technologies. We pride ourselves on being able to handle the most complex technologies while providing both personalized service and the highest quality work product.

The Goal: The goal of the project was to revamp its brand identity, website, and print. The objective was to create a very iconic, simple, branded logo that identifies with their business. After establishing color and brand identity, I focused on developing, website cross-platform, print, and photography.

Execution: The design of the logo, designed branded look and feel, website assistance design, architectural and headshot photography, and group story photography. This was another Smashing Boxes project I worked on. What a great group of team members I had.

Malartu

Malartu is a web application designed for a new way of funding startups and small business in North Carolina known as intrastate investment crowdfunding.

Malartu enables both accredited and non-accredited North Carolina investors to participate in crowdfunded equity and debt offerings issued by North Carolina startups and small businesses.

The solution will be a desktop based web application that will allow startups to create campaigns in which investors can fund, very similar to Kickstarter. Instead of getting a nifty t-shirt for your finiancial commitment, the investor will actually get equity.

Designed a clean template that can be responsive on many mobile platforms. At Smashing Boxes, we built a functional prototype, so Malartu can take their idea and get funding for their concept.

USA TODAY Travel - Experience Las Vegas

Platform: Online & Print: Worked with Our Man in Havana (Advertising Agency) on concept mocks for USA Today Travel Vegas Experience. The Concept was focused on Las Vegas traveler’s profile: The Sophisticated Couple, The Foodie/Gambler, The Shopping Diva, The Partier, and Spa Time. My job was to execute the concept and bring it to life by organizing a photo shoot, photographing the shoot, and using the photos to design an advertising campaign. 

Shoot Responsibilities: Built mood boards for talent  • Developed lighting look & feel • Assisted in the development of character build-up • Developed Shot List • Helped coordinate the talents • Organized a team for the shoot • Photographed the talent • Worked one-on-one with Our Man in Havana advertising agency to complete campaign 

Other Responsibilities: Color correcting • Retouching • Photo compositing • Design layout of print comps and online banners advertisement.

Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers Microsite

A fun quick project I worked on with Jeanne at Ogilvy. We helped launch Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers, Wish-Bone sponsored Puttin' on the Spritz, the first-ever live fashion show featuring apparel made from fresh produce. This over-the-top event called for an equally audacious site that not only promoted the event but also introduced the world to Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers—an innovative new concept in salad dressings.

WishBone Concept - Salad Enlightenment

​With an array of Salad Spritzers and Light Dressings to choose from, options for creating a healthy salad are endless. Enter the Salad Guru, a wise and funny guide that offers users helpful tips and information as they create their perfect salads.

This idea introduces the entertaining and helpful salad builder tool which allows users to learn about the nutritional information of Wish-Bone’s light dressings, as well as other salad ingredients. At the same time, the guru personality offers tips and witty words of wisdom to engage the user more deeply with the brand and offers opportunities for viral pass along.

Black Berry 10 and USA TODAY Sales Team

Concepted and Designed mocks for the Sales Team at USA TODAY. I also worked on developing different ways to interact with your newspaper by introducing the Layar APP (augmented reality) on your phone. BlackBerry approved and we won the client to promote their new phone in the USATODAY newspaper and website. Did layouts for the USATODAY website and app to promote Black Berry’s 10 new phone.

Scholastic and NESTLÉ® Push-Up Pop Contest

This is an old one but one of my favorite projects I had a chance to shine. I had a great team, from my creative director and the coders which back then pushed the boundaries of want we were able to do for Scholastic. The concept was to make an interactive kid’s art contest where you can design and build your own Push-Up Pop on the Scholastic website. There were multiple challenges to make this happen, from the shape of the tube and how to repeat the pattern that wrapped around the tube. Also how to create an interactive environment where you can have fun drawing and designing your Push-Up Pop.
